The Singularity Viewer for SecondLife ~ Grid Hopping & "Geared towards Combat RP"

By Avatar JayR Cela

Well this viewer is very nice, it seems to take quite a few features from other's, and geared toward's maximum potential use in Combat Based Sim's. I could easily use this as a fall back viewer of choice, if it were not for all the weird, unexpected crash's. And odd ball lack of saving my preference's in the debug settings, and main menu as well.

I guess i would typify an explanation of it, as a combination ~ Ascent ~ Combat Cubed ~ Phoenix ~ viewers, all rolled into one. Plus or minus a few features here and there. And lot's of bug's.

However the search function's are truly a blessing for all sorts of uses. Quite possibly the best I have seen so far.

I'm personally not into Combat RP, ( I detest violence in Video Games in general ) but quite a few people are. And I will have to say this much. If you are a combat RPG person. Ya read it here first ! This may well become the viewer of choice for that genera soon.

Seeing how the version you most likely tested with 1.5.5 (you didn't let us know, but that was the latest release when this post was made) and it's noted "This version marks the start of slow, long and painful transition towards Singularity 1.6 - please watch out for hidden bugs!" You shouldn't be surprised at the "lot's of bugs" and "all the weird, unexpected crash's". It's a work in progress. :) Check back at 1.6, even at 1.5.6 it's more stable.

As you follow along, be sure to uninstall older versions as part of the upgrade process to new releases. Much work is being done with OpenJPEG in preperation for Singularity 1.6, and old cached textures will likely cause freezing and crashes. :)
