SecondLife : Major Open GL Problems !

By Avatar JayR Cela

Well it seem's as if the majority of problems lately dealing with things not rezzing properly, have nothing to do with the the SL TPV's  In fact all along it has been a server side issue dealing with Open GL. Hence all the abrupt and un-announced Sim restart's. This is actually a good thing though.

I think Will Wright and Rod Humble have finally got a grip on the inner working's of the free for all laze-a-fare attitude at the Lab, and are whipping things into shape.

From what I have heard, Open GL on the server side has been a hush hush major issue delaying numerous project's.

So I guess we are just going to have to be glad that at least it is being addressed.

Most of the sim crashes this week were caused by a server rollout which had problems that did not show up in the RC channel. That version has now been rolled back to last week's stable release (info from Oskar Linden).

Hi there Hitomi

I guess my major problem has to deal with the asinine way V3 deals with notification in the form of silly little toast's messages in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

Most people either ignore or simply do not see those tiny little annoying messages.

If a sim is about to restart, you should get a easily visible message as per Viewer 1.x style A big Blue Message in the upper right hand corner of your screen.
