SecondLife : Linden Lab Continues To Stab Themselves In The Foot

By Avatar JayR Cela

Ya know sometimes it just amazes me the things that LL does, to seemingly  sabotage themselves, as of yesterday they are throwing a hissy-fit over TPV browser's being able to access Open Sim grid's. You can read an excellent in-depth analysis about this recent dumb-founding knee jerk reaction on Maria Korolov's, HyperGrid Business Blog for all the foolish details here
  http://www.hypergridbusiness.com/2012/08/linden-lab-cuts-viewer-link-to-opensim/

Who really gives a crap, I know I certainly don't. A number of month's back I wrote a parody post about OS and OSGrid stomping SL into the dirt in about 2 years from now. Although I had meant the post to be a comical look at the future, it seems as if I was right on the money.

So what will this mean to folk's that like to go grid hopping ? Believe me it wont mean diddly-squat ! Your much better off using Astra, Singularity, CoolV, or The Zen Viewer anyways.

I get the feeling that Linden Lab intentionally crafted their Havok license to exclude non-SL grids.

I get this feeling of disconnection from LL and the rest of the world a lot lately.

Hi there Anonymous

Yeah, I agree, so far FireStorm is one hell of a great VW client platform, actually I am glad that LL has stuck their foot in their mouth again.

Rarely have I witnessed a company that somehow seems to take pride in pissing off customers and the TPV base of contributors.

Open Sim, and especially OSGrid Dev's must be dancing in the street's right about now. / LOL
