Jiggly bits!

Mister Acacia is online

You didn't hear it first. Well, maybe you did. The good folks at Phoenix have come out with a new version of their awesome viewer. It's 1102 and is pretty much on the heels of 1050. As well as some bug fixes, a security update to part of the sound system, they've added avatar physics. They had to do this because the newest Viewer2 uses it, and if your viewer can't understand what the V2 viewer is sending, their avatar will look Ruthed. It pretty much affects all V1 viewers like Imprudence and Ascent, and all V2 viewers based on 2.4 code. Phoenix is the first V1 viewer to attempt avatar physics.

But watching the group chatter about it, there are so many people who suddenly turn 13 talking about bouncy boobs, butts and bellies. I can't wait for the next iteration where they include male jiggly bits. I think a dancer with a floppy device would be fun for the ladies, don't you?

Read more about the new Phoenix on their site: http://www.phoenixviewer.com.

Also heard in group chatter is that Firestorm Preview 3 (which might be classified as a beta) might be less than a month away. Stay tuned to their group: secondlife:///app/group/7ba4569c-9dd9-fed2-aaa7-36065d18a13c/about . I look forward to it.

A couple of things:

Avatars using avatar physics do not ruth to users of Viewer 1 - though sometimes, but not always, their clothing layers do not render properly.

I'm sure Arrehn (lead developer of Firestorm) won't mind me posting what he wrote on another forum here:
"Firestorm has been quiet because we are working hard on our first fully public release. It's just a few short weeks away now, and it will be big. ...... Downloads will be all over the Phoenix website and other places. It will have a number of unique features. It will be the first publicized release of Firestorm, and while there is still much work to do, we believe it will be a fantastic viewer with a promising, bright future ahead of it."
