Virtual Worlds : Imprudence Viewer Bites The Dust

By Avatar JayR Cela

Well this was bound to happen sooner or later, it seems that the Imprudence viewer project will be shelved, in favor of further development geared towards Aurora Open Sim Server, and the V3 based Kokua  viewer. You can read more about this turn of events here.

This isn't the full story. Imprudence will still be usable for some time until the NEW KOKUA viewer is up and running. And even then there may be some updated in the distance future for the Impurdence Viewer 1.4 Beta 2.

Hi there Stryker

Personally I think the Imprudence Viewer should be put to rest, a well deserved final burial.

A lot of really kool features were developed during it's lifetime, but it is time to move forward. V1 is pretty much a dead issue in SL

in Open Sim, yeah maybe, but I think I will just jump into my 1999 Ford Escort and go for a ride.

V1 is Dead in the Water

I wish Henry would admit this and concentrate his efforts towards V3

Oh Well

Well I thought the original post was not complete. People may get the (in my opinion) wrong impression that Imprudence was totally given up.

However I do agree that I also can't wait for the Kokua Viewer to take shape. But until that is so, we can still find uses for the Imprudence viewer. So V1 maybe "Dead in the Water" Imprudence is not, or I should say "not yet"!

And I am sure that the small Development (with all the help from the community at large) will and have been chipping away at the code for Kokua Viewer. That in it self was the message I got from the resent meetings; "We will focus on Kokua from now on, and may do some more work on Imprudence in the distant future".
