Open Sim and Permission's Changing Unexpectedly

By Avatar JayR Cela

I dont know if you have experienced this recently, but I have. Stuff that I collect that is obviously FULL PERM and intended to be freely distributed, end up turning out as No-Copy / No-Transfer

Sometimes if I re-rezz the stuff it is once again Full-Perm, is this just me or am I insane ?

There's a lot of different factors that could be at play. The ones I'd look at are wether or not the stuff is on the same grid it was made on or not. The other thing would be to see if there are no-mod scripts that are turning the whole thing no-mod.

Please let us know if you get it figured out!

It is not only you. I have had the same issues. That full perms show in Inventory as no copy, no modify, even no transfer that is old. Usually right clicking in Inventory and check marking the wrong permissions would do the trick. Other times rezzing on the ground brought the full perms back.
But lately I am seeing that once rezzed on the ground the item is permanently no modify and no copy. That is caused by scripts inside having those permissions. The content should not influence the object permissions, but it does.
I brought this issue at the latest developers meeting in the OsGrid. They were not aware of it. I wish more users would attend such meetings. They are Tuesdays at 11 am PST @Wright Plaza
Here is the chat log of the last one on May 2nd

Hi there Han and Isis

Thank you for taking the time to comment, I have checked for embedded scripts, there seems to be no rhyme or reason for this behavior, yesterday a friend gave me a folder full of underground cave prims, all Full Perm, but when I got them they were all No Copy - No Transfer, when I informed her of this several hours later she gave me the folder again and they were all Full Perm. Haa !

@Isis / I have the next OSGrid meeting marked down on my calendar now, so I will see you there

Thanks again for commenting / *Bigg Huggs*
