My criticisms and praise of the platform SecondLife and other Open Sim based virtual worlds are all established here in this blog, I sometime wonder why I even bother any longer, especially when it remains a 32bit world. What's the problem here ? Are there even any 32bit computers still running out there in the wild ?
If Linden Lab and the Open Sim world really want to get serious about Virtual Reality, 32bit is a dead end street. So why is it that Dev's continue to pump out outdated and soon to be obsolete 32bit code ?
If you really want to see a truly 64bit viewer in action, try out NiranV's Black Dragon Viewer @ http://niranv-sl.blogspot.com/
I'm not saying this is the best viewer available, but the Avatar in SL NiranV has done more than anyone else I am aware of to promote the use of 64bit as the de-facto standard.
The Singularity and Kokua viewers are following close behind, FireStorm, ummm I'm still waiting for them to just blow everyone away and hopefully with tear off windows too.
It is going to take Oz Linden to finally take a stand and embrace 64bit, if he does not do it, then unfortunately it's not gonna happen.

Hyper Grid Is The Future
By Avatar JayR Cela
I will start out this post with saying one thing, the folk's working behind the scenes at SL are top notch people.
Upper management is the problem.
SecondLife is a wonderful place, their recent changes to the TOS are pretty much standard in the industry, in other words screw everyone. I don't know about you, but have you ever bothered to actually read the TOS agreement's to the majority of software you have downloaded ? More and likely not.
SecondLife is truly an amazing technological feat, no one can deny that. However Open Sim and Hyper Grid are the future.
