Well I'm at it again, first things first, absolutely no coverage of SecondLife, or any other Closed
( Walled Garden ) Grids.
If its not HyperGrid, Cross Platform and Open Source ( Linux ~ Mac ~ Windows, compatible ) I will not be devoting any time whatsoever to it.
This should greatly free up some of my time to express my opinions on matters I feel actually make a difference for the future of Virtual Reality Worlds in general.
I greatly appreciate any and all readers, present and past that have been following me over the years. I hope I do not let you down. However please keep in mind this in an Opinion Blog, My Opinions, perhaps guest writers as well, and is not intended to be considered as News, unless I expressly state it as such.

More Changes To This Blog : Removal Of SecondLife Specific Third Party Viewer Listing's
By Avatar JayR Cela
Well after some thought, ( and admittedly not much ) I will be removing most anything on this blog that is only able to log onto the SL grid. Or articles of interest that pertain to LL. In other words if it is not related to Open Sim and Hyper Grid, you probably wont find it here.

OpenSim / Hypergrid : Why Some Places May Risk Frying Your Graphics Card
By Avatar jayR Cela
This issue is not just OS and HG related, my personal recommendation is to lower your Graphics settings before transporting onto another grid. Some of them are way too overloaded with inefficient Mesh and to somewhat a lesser extent Sculptie stuff.
I have had several instances occur recently where my tried and true EVGA GTX560 has gone completely bonkers with the fan accelerating to what I feel are unsafe speeds.
Just saying, this seems to be due to the fact that a subject I have made mention of here several times about efficient design. Mesh is complicated. Some people do not have the proper training, and ya cant blame them, everyone has to learn somehow or an other.
However Blowing Up Your Video Card or Over Heating your Computer is a real concern.

HyperGrid~OpenSim / SL>OS Texture Migration
By Avatar JayR Cela
Managing to gather a rather large texture library for your self and other HyperGrid Explorers is something that you either choose to do or you don't. The past few weeks I have been gradually taking snapshots of several thousand textures accumulated in SL the past 9 years or so.
Since these are not directly exportable, and the fact that most of them are out in the wild anyways, I see no reason not to just simply set yourself up a basic Green Screen background and a canvas to apply the numerous amount of inventory SL textures you have accumulated, export them into an editer ~ GIMP~Paint.Net~PhotoShop.....
Export and upload into your OpenSim Avatar's Inventory........
for the intended grid of choice. It is a lengthy process, so be patient, and if you really want to preserve your treasured Photo's and stuff from Second Life, there are 2 fantastic and Free options available, Google Drive is kick ass simply because of its universal cross platform availability's, OneDrive is a MicroSoft product, however I have seen recently that it is available in the Google App Store.
This is Very Kool.
And I dont give a rat's ass about people that think this is somehow stealing, if the stuff is out there in the wild wild west internet of things, anything goes, so sue me if ya can, I welcome it.

Open Sim : What's The Best Viewer ?
By Avatar JayR Cela
Here we go again, in my recent hypergrid travels I seem to be getting asked this quite often, heres my answer.
Singularity for building, FireStorm for just about everything else.
And thats all I have to currently say at this point in time.
