Hey let just look at the fact's / The United States of America is the largest Munitions Manufacturer in the World, Russia is close behind, the Dog's of War and Weapon crazed WAR Profiteers, have run rampant selling the merchandise of destruction, despair, inhumanity, hatred, racism, and the inhumanity that is beyond belief of any sane human being with an ounce of brains in their head.
We as people of the OpenSim and HyperGrid Virtual World of Resident's are right now standing at a point in time that is Crucial.
We Can Make A Difference !!

OpenSim : HyperGrid : What Happens When Your Host Grid .IAR Files are Lost ?
By Avatar JayR Cela
Sloppy management in any organization can manifest itself in a number of different ways, and sometime's with catastrophic consequences, all depends on how you look at the situation. I you are a regular HyperGrid Hopper, it is more than likely that you have taken the time to duplicate your most prized inventory items that are Full Perm on numerous Grid's.
If you have not taken the time to do this, Shame On You !!!, and it is your fault when you loose things due to circumstances beyond your control.
I recently had one of the Grids I use loose their .IAR DataBase server or I think the Hard Drive just decided to take a crap, well guess what, the last backup this particular grid had was from 3 to 4 weeks prior to the failure.
Luckily for me I duplicate everything on at least 3 other Grid's.
*Face Palm* OMG / Unbelievable !!*
Am I upset ?
No I am not, because I have taken the time necessary to save things in various other grids.
Do yourself a favor and join as many HyperGrid World's as you can, and at least preserve you Name, establish your presence everywhere, and make redundant copies of everything you have taken the time to aquire

OpenSim Links on this Blog : What Happened to Them ?
By Avatar JayR Cela
Hi there, as of the 29th of September Google Blogger decided to remove the Slideshow Gadget functionality from Blogger, unfortunately this seem's to have also removed all of the OpenSim, OSViewer's, Blender Tips, and links to other various resources as well. Dammit ! not much I can do about it after the fact, besides to manually restore them. Oh Well :_(
In conclusion, so sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, I will be taking care of this during the weekend. Thanks

Mint Linux 18 KDE LTS is Ready for OpenSim
By Avatar JayR Cela
Today was the day I have been waiting for, as an OpenSim content creator, (user) I was loathe to switch my favorite OSViewer and disrupt my content creation processes to something I don't really care for. I'm not picking on anyone in the OS viewer community, I just prefer Singularity, and I am a died in the wool KDE user. Ok,Ok sometimes I do actually downgrade to Windows 10, but that has nothing to do with my OpenSim projects.
I was thrilled to see the Mint Linux team release the final LTS version on Mint 18 KDE today.
So-Far-So-Good, my random crashes and the first hypergrid jump problems seem to have gone poof. LOL / At last now I can get back to a normal work flow again.
Thank You https://linuxmint.com/
I'll keep these rambling's alive as long as I feel it is necessary.

Virtual Worlds : Nintendo : Breath of the Wild : How Does This Relate to OpenSim ?
By Avatar JayR Cela
OK, ok, so I am a crazy person, everyone that knows me is well aware of that, what you may not know is that i am a Huge Nintendo Fan, I despise First Person Shooters and violent themed games. The upcoming Zelda Breath of the Wild is a contained open world, with seemingly endless conclusions to the end game. Kinda reminds me of OpenSim and the seemingly endless possibilities that await it's participant's all along being well aware of the fact that there is and end game, and VR Head Set's are not it.
We as OpenSim users, builders, creators have it all within our grasps. My personal opinion is just blow off this insane obsession and temptation to embrace VR HeadSet's and a dead end path.
Affordable, Augmented Reality devices will be here soon enough.

Open Sim : I am Currently Working On a New Project With Kazuko Yoshida
By Avatar JayR Cela
This new project , will not be mind blowing.
It will be a continuation of a mutual respect and cooperation between the 2 of us.
I am really looking forward to the initial unveiling.

Open Sim and Pompous AssHoles
By Avatar JayR Cela
Ya know what there is a reason I stay behind the scenes and don't spout off at the mouth every 1 hour or so trying to boost a reputation in the OpenSim community.
When I feel I have something to say that is important to me or the community at large, I will say it, I am not about to waste your time with frivolous party events or grid hunts and other worthless crap, I sometimes think the people that do just need to hear their mindless blatherings.

Open Sim : Working on a Community Build Project : Sign a Contract
By Avatar Jay R Cela
Look here I am an opinionated bastard sometimes / if ya don't like it, then no sense in listening to my rant's any longer. Working on a Grids Community project build, only to find out once you have reached completion, all of your editing right's have been stripped from you is a monumental slap in the face.
My advice is to have everyone involved accept a signed contract.
I am extremely upset with a certain Grid, I will not name here, due to professional reason's / but I am pissed off / BIGG TIME !!
I feel I have been slapped in the face for all the work I did, only to have it yanked from my grasp for future development.
In the long run it is OK / I have copies of my work distributed on multiple OpenSim grid area's I reserve for all of my builds as works in progress.
So the joke will be on the people that had the disrespect for my time spent and at no charge to them, as I am about to release it into the wild as a Free-bee

Virtual Reality Head Set's : The Jokes on U: Project Sansar
By Avatar JayR Cela
Hey there let's face it, the Oculus Rift, and all the other like minded knock offs are a monumental joke, and a total waste of your $$$ and time. If any one is going to pull this fiasco off it will be Sony and or Microsoft perhaps Samsung, with self contained head displays, and Augmented Reality. I think you can safely say Oculus and the wanna-bee's are a mere blip on the radar screen. This kinda leaves Project Sansar, Linden Lab the creator's of the SecondLife Virtual World environment as Ebbie Linden's ( the current CEO ) last hope for some sort of reclamation of credibility within the smoldering ashes of his failed reign at the helm of Electronic Art's near downfall before taking the helm at Linden Lab, and a last ditch effort to salvage his career.
I don't know about you, and I am not a rocket scientist by any means, but do you really think you can spends multiple hours at a time being completely engrossed into a virtual world environment wearing a face mask, totally obscuring you from the outside world around you. If you do. then excuse me, I think you are an idiot, and deserve what you get.
#1 you need to own a worthless piece of junk so-called Smart (Dumb-ass) Phone with a decent display panel.
#2 Insert this overhyped piece of trash into a somewhat uncomfortable head mounted unit that look's like you are about to go for a Scuba Diving adventure.
#3 Hopefully you are not stupid enough to try the motion sensor accessories that may cause you to trip and fall while mindlessly waving your arms around or moving about, because you cannot see what the hell your real life surroundings are.
In closing, MicroSoft will pull this off with Augmented Reality, and the HoloLens ( and I'm not a Window's person by any means )
Sony, and Samsung will be close behind.
Project Sansar will go down into the history books as a flop.

Singularity 1.8.7.xxxx Woe's with Ubuntu 16.04.1 Based Distro's : My Final Solution
By Avatar JayR Cela
I know this story is getting old, and please disregard any previous misinformation you may have read previously here, but I am (was) determined to make the newest version of the Singularity virtual world viewer work with the mess Canonical Ltd's, latest Ubuntu distribution left a lot of formely happy campers with. I also am well aware of the great and sower full loss of a core member of the Singularity team, Latif Khalifa who was a driving force behind this wonderful and totally unbloated masterpiece of software. I have also talked with various fellow users under other major Linux distribution's, most notably several Arch based distro's whom have experienced no problems whats so ever. There had to be a missing link somewhere, and I seem to have finally found it.
I am taking no credit for this solution, the praise belongs to the author of this blog post.

install singularity / firestorm / Catznip / kokua / radegast / secondlife / alchemy/ Cool VL Viewer/ Replex/ Exodus/ OnLook [ubuntu,debian]
https://fredfire1.wordpress.com/2015/04/29/install-firestorm-ubuntu/
This is a must read for any Singularity fans, and for that matter any other people seeking a solution to unexpected problems with the latest Ubuntu based distributions, and other V1 or V3 based OpenSim viewers. As you can see this post seems to cover all the bases and apparently has been updated numerous times.
In order to make a long story short I will sum it up this way, I switched my distro to LinuxMint 18 KDE Beta and did the following.
*First thing to do is open a terminal and make yourself the Root - super user*
su
*Run these two commands
dpkg --add-architecture i386
apt-get update
*Now run this nested command line to add the necessary lib files*
apt-get install libasound2:i386 libasound2-plugins:i386 libasyncns0:i386 libattr1:i386 libc6:i386 libc6-i686:i386 libcap2:i386 libdbus-1-3:i386 libflac8:i386 libgcc1:i386 libice6:i386 libjson0:i386 libogg0:i386 libpulse0:i386 libsm6:i386 libsndfile1:i386 libstdc++6:i386 libvorbis0a:i386 libvorbisenc2:i386 libwrap0:i386 libx11-6:i386 libx11-xcb1:i386 libxau6:i386 libxcb1:i386 libxdmcp6:i386 libxext6:i386 libxi6:i386 libxtst6:i386 zlib1g:i386 -y
*Ok you now need to get the proper x86-64 stuff in place with these commands*
dpkg --add-architecture amd64
apt-get update
Well after doing this procedure and wiping out any and all traces of Singularity from my home directory ( be sure to allow display hidden files, including the .secondlife file if you happen to find one left over from any previous installations )
Next step was to isolate the Singularity cache file from it's default installation location, I usually do this by creating an OpenSim directory and a nested CacheFiles > Singularity folder and place it there. For one reason or another this is just an old habit of mine, and not really necessary
Open your Singularity folder, open Konsole in the same directory and as a normal user type
./singularity
For one reason or another this installed a faulty launcher in my Internet Menu, which is no big deal because it also runs the Singularity script in Konsole thus opening the viewer itself in a separate window.
I have been running this way for the past few days without many random crashes, there is however one nagging problem I have yet to solve, my first HyperGrid jump always results in a Crash, once I get through that just re log and proceed normally.

PS. many thanks again to fredfire1 of Wordpress bloggers for this fantastic resource post I used to solve my problem, I hope it will help you as well.
