Hi there all folks interested in Hydroplane racing in OpenSim, I have had a few set backs with my plans, but nonetheless, I am moving forward, Bill Blight from OpenSimLife Grid has donated some server space for an ubODE Var sim, it is Gigantic, and a complete trip to check out. The ubODE Physics model really stands out here as any physical contact with another object results in a very realistic reaction, in other words you can do irreparable damage to your boat. Haaa ! It is a Blast.
TheKazGrid, one of our servers is currently down, so I am rebuilding on another one that has 3 of my Sims, for right now we will be using Bullet to connect to various other Sims and everything seems to be working well.
3rdGrid I have a place there and with the help of resident Eldovar Lamilton have an Auto Delete version of the MadCat 1, this is a huge Var Sim and seems to be rather slow, also you can not rezz your own boats at this location.
The really kool thing about TheKazGrid and OpenSimLife is that anyone is able to rezz their own boats for testing.
The OpenSim HyperGrid Jump Address's will be coming soon.

OpenSim HyperGrid : The SnikSnoodle Factor : Easy OpenSim Sever SetUp Instructions on GitHub
By Avatar JayR Cela
Wow, this just blew me away the other day, an actual set of instructions that are readable by the average person wishing to set up a home based OpenSim Grid. It was posted by sniksnoodle and she placed it on github.com
Here is the address for this tremendous resource.
SnickSnoodle's Easy OpenSim Server Setup Ubuntu
This is a godsend, I had found it on G+ yesterday and bookmarked it, today I do not seem to be able to find it again, so is no big deal, just click on the link above. It deals with a typical Ubuntu Server 16.04 LTS based Linux distribution deployment, and puts most of the very complicated jargon into layman's easy to understand step by step instructions.
Thanks a lot Snicksnoodle

OpenSim Power Boat Association : The KazGrid Location under Maintainance
By Avatar JayR Cela
I am just here briefly for this post letting people know that we are doing some work on the Server that the OSPBA resides on, and plan to be back up and running early this week.
So if you are trying the HyperGrid Link
thekaz.ddns.net:8002:ChibaSea1
and it's obviously not working, LOL thats the reason.

OpenSim Power Boat Association ( OSPBA ) Our First Test on 3rdRock Grid
By Avatar JayR Cela
Well the first test's on 3rdRock Grid were not very promising, the 8x8 Var Bullet Physics Sim was disappointingly SLOW !
Almost a waste of time, and the lack of race track markers resulted in my increasing my viewers draw distance to maximum, further slowing things down. Hopefully I will be able to resolve some of these issues soon.
I do have an ace up my sleeve with an entirely new ubODE Grid devoted to the OSPBA and will be opening it to the public this coming week.
Stay Tuned for further announcements. / LOL

OpenSim Power Boat Association : Trial Run on 3rdRock Grid Today
By Avatar JayR Cela
Yes I am expanding the OSPBA to other grids that want to participate in this project. Today I will be hosting a trial run on 3rdRock Grid at Hyper Grid address. We will be using the Bullet Physics Engine for this test.
grid.3rdrockgrid.com:8002:Southern Ocean
We will be using a version of the MadCat 1 Hydroplane modified by 3rdRock Grid resident Eldovar Lamilton that will delete itself if you crash or dismount, please feel free to take a copy into your inventory before you leave, it is Full Perm.
This event will be from 12:00 until 2:00pm PST today / July 1 2017
