SecondLife : Living In A Land Of Paranoid People And Security Orbs : What happened to Your World Your Imagination ?

By Avatar JayR Cela

SecondLife has seen better day's, sadly it seems to have become a refuge for paranoid people.

What happened to Your World Your Imagination ?

I can not even describe how many places in SecondLife seem to be OFF Limits to just about anyone, that just so happens to be exploring.

I'm sick and tired of it.

SecondLife : Phoenix FireStorm Halloween Party All Day October 31 2014 : SLUR's Borked Again : Here's How To Get There

By Avatar JayR Cela

It's that nonsensical time of year again, Halloween party's abound, but the really BIGG ONE is the Phoenix FireStorm Party.

How convenient that SL SLUR's are broken again, ( like a lot of other crap in SL ) mindless tinkering with working things, and concentration on worthless stuff no one give's a rat's ass about.

Anyways, if you were thinking about attending the Phoenix FireStorm party today, and having a hard time finding the place, Jessica Lyon provided me with this tip.

Cut and paste the following into your local chat bar ( box )
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Phoenix%20Firestorm%20Support/27/24/2734

That will call up the TP location.

Cheer's & Boooo !!!!

Virtual World Viewers / The Biggest Problem Is ? / They Follow Second Life Mistakes !

By Avatar JayR Cela

Let me get something straight, right off the bat. I have great admiration and respect for the remaining hand full of folks left over to steward Second Life as it slowly goes through it's agonizing death-throws.

The amount of constant weekly changes to the SL Viewer has gotten to be almost comical, and yet the team still refuses to address some very serious issues. Instead the focus seems to be on, ( I still have not figured it out ) mostly useless minor changes that I have seen so far, fix this, break that, re-fix this, break something else, it goes on and on.

And We Still do not have Tear Off Menus, ( one's you are able to move onto a second Monitor )
Gawd Dammit, why and the hell the TPV's are not abandoning SL in droves is beyond me.

I have 2 workstations, both dual 19" that I use for Virtual World exploration, and still to this day I can not tear off a menu onto an adjacent screen. How can you possibly take any form of Software in
today's modern world seriously, when it does not offer this one simple and basic function ?

Let's face it LL and SL have been milking the Third Party Viewers brains for about 8 years now, and for one reason or another, the folks involved seem to be like herded cattle, and we are still stuck with ?

It's time to break loose, embrace Open Sim and Hyper Grid, and rid themselves of the LL trappings.

Open Sim Hyper Grid Exploration Project : Looking Out Side The Box : My Future Plans ?

By Avatar JayR Cela

Well this has been a pet project of mine for longer than I care to admit, I am a Linux person, I have no idea how I got that way. I think it could be a virus of sort's, just melts your mind, and then takes over. / LOL :_)

Looking outside the normal box seems to be a good idea right now, Windows is great, I love W7 / 8.1 was very nice once I got it tweaked out, and Preview 10 looks right on the money.

So that being said I am a long time Windows user, I also use and have been exploring the Linux operating system universe for way longer than necessary.

    It's a really big place :_)

My thoughts about where this blog may be going in the future, keep bringing me back to Linux, Open Source, and Hyper Grid.

I am at a bit of a crossroad here, please bear with me while i sort things out.

Thanks

My Thoughts On Virtual Worlds Are Just Opinion's

By Avatar JayR Cela

As  I start my travels in the Meta~Verse, I have to look back at certain baggage, ongoing and former friendships.  It is a difficult decision depending upon how much you rely upon a Virtual World in order to make a living.

I am a bit off the wall in my opinions. However they are just that, "Opinion's"

Virtual Worlds : Hyper Grid : 3rdRock Grid About To Take The Plunge

By Avatar JayR Cela

This is phenomenal news, at least for me and a number of other Virtual World Avatar's. 3rdRock is very close to releasing the Hyper Grid enabled version of their phenomenally successful Creative Art's orientated Virtual World Open Sim based platform.

I'm really busy right now with a number of things, so until I have some more time to investigate you can read more about it here.

Boy once ya tie these guys into the Kitely Market Place, Open Sim's future is looking better than ever.

Real Life United States Politic's : Can You Really Trust A Bunch Of Old Angry White Guy's ?

By Avatar JayR Cela

I am still holding on to my thought's of a better world through Virtual Reality, and Education Of The Mass's.

However a number of Angry Old White Men, seem to have a very different view of what the world should be.

If you happen to live in the United States, and if you do not exercise you right, and duty as a citizen to actually get off your ass and vote.....................

     Don't Complain To Me !!

Open Sim Needs : A Universal OpenSim Grid SetUp Log In Procedure

By Avatar JayR Cela

In my Open Sim adventures, I have found one increasingly disappointing flaw in the addapotion rate strategy within the Third Party Viewer community. The ability to add or remove Open Sim grid initial log in procedures are fractured, to say the least. Let's take a few for instances, FireStorm, Kokua and Singularity, all 3 have a similar but different process in witch to add additional grids to your log in procedure.

OK let's face it we really should stop calling them 3rd Party Viewers, all of them although based on Linden Lab(s) massive amount of contributions, are in and themselves unique. They are all a bit different from one in other

Take for instance the Singularity Viewer, you are on your own trying to figure that one out, I'm not saying it cannot be done, it's just a pain in the ass, FireStorm is much easier to comprehend, Kokua has got to be the best I have seen so far.

All I am really trying to say here is that, there is a need within the Open Sim Community to establish a Universal Standard for adding an OS grid to your log in options.

Virtual Worlds : Walled or Closed Garden Grids Are Not The Answer

By Avatar JayR Cela

In the ever expanding world of Virtual Reality environment's, closed or walled off gardens such as InWorldz or SecondLife are not the answer to a question often asked. What grid do I choose to log into or create an account in ?

It's a good question, you can do whatever you like, after all it is your virtual life. Will you risk entrusting it to a third party ? I would imagine that depends upon your own personal beliefs, and how trusting of an individual you are.

Last years announcement by Linden Lab, owners of the popular Virtual Reality world SecondLife threw everyone for a loop when the company unannounced and unexpectedly changed their Terms of Service agreement, forcing you to sign it with out the ability to read it beforehand ( at least in my case I was unable to even log into the official web site before I agreed to their underhanded tactics )

Since most folks, ( myself included )  don't usually bother to read the majority of TOS statements, many of us woke up days later only to find all of our Virtual World Intellectual Property right's had been stripped to the bone, outright stolen from beneath our virtual feet. Approximately 1 year afterwards the newly appointed CEO of LL announced that SecondLife version 1 was to be shuttered in order to make way for SecondLife 2, adding further insult to injury, it was also made known that none of the massive amounts of Virtual World goods would be transferable into this wonderful new VW.

Hey but that's OK, just start from scratch again, send us more of your money to flutter away on more hollow ground so we can screw ya another time.

NOT !!

Well this should be good news to just about everyone involved within the Open Meta~Verse world of professional's and hobbyist alike. The Blender Foundation, an open source community who's driven goal is to deliver top quality 3D content creation tools to the mass's, available on the Linux, Mac and Windows platforms.  This newest release offers many complex tools to let your creative graphic's abilities really shine.

However there is a rather steep learning curve, fortunately there are a ton of tutorial's widely available just about everywhere on the Web, including TBF's own web site. SecondLife 2 : Does It Even Stand A Chance ?

By Avatar JayR Cela

Here's the way I am looking at SL2, it's a wait and see issue, personally I don't really care.

#1 I am not about to get ripped off again, as far a LL goes they continually stab themselves
in the foot, first the right then the left, then they pork their customers. Many folk's may not remember
the early years, I do.

#2 HomeStead Sim's, and the HUGE outright lie to all the people that bought into the Lab's BS, granting them really affordable Virtual World property, then changing the rules in the middle of the game. And more recently Changing the Term's of Service agreement, allowing LL total and unrevocable right's to anything and everything you may have created here, including scripts, note-cards, text message's, photograph's, cinema, machinnima, textures, object's ect............ And then blatantly refusing to address the issue.

#3 It's pretty much a dead topic anyway. Phillip is busy with HiFidelity, everyone seem's to be
enamored with Oculous whatever, there ain't know way in HELL I am about to wear some sort
of Virtual Reality pair of glass's, to simply chat with people and do something creative.

#4 Counter productive systematic, and continuous screwing over of the individual SL Shop and Venue Owner's, with the SL Marketplace

#5 Most, if not all of the content in SL2 will consist of Legally Stolen Intellectual Property, from within SL1.

#6 Is this a company you really want to do business with ? / I Doubt if anyone that matter's
         actually cares any longer.

No Thank's Ebbe Linden.

I'll be playing around somewhere in Open Sim.
