Ok ya heard it hear first again, Viewer 2 is just about dead, toss it in the trash, stomp on it, kick it into the gutter where it belongs. The recent removal of SnowStorm V2.7.x from the downloads is nothing more than a re-naming of it to V2.5.2.x
I guess they are running out of numbers.
Never the less, Oz Linden just announced today he will be actually starting to explore, and use some of the TPV's we have all come to adore.
Glory, Glory, Hallucination, can this actually be true ?
It's about time someone at the lab takes a look at reality.

If a majority are using TPV anyway this is somewhat logical to stop spending resources on a product the user will most likely not use. However, many TPV are basing their viewers off of Linden source code.... So If Linden's stop creating the source. See where I'm going with this? Hoping this means that they will be looking at what the TPV's are doing, and use the good stuff in any new version the Linden's create.

Yeah I'm with ya on that one, Viewer 2 is a humongous waste of resource's, and money for that matter. Currently the majority of people using it are new folk's, that don't know any better. I imagine you read Selby's post today, he make's an excellent point.
And YES the V2 UI is a complete joke, a poor one at best. Thank goodness we have passionate third party developer teams, like Kirsten, Dolphin, Phoenix and Imprudence.
Kicking a dead horse only lead's to hurting one's own foot.
Put this Turkey to rest. No one that is a true SecondLifer use's it anyways.

yeah im with ya both on this one,v2 is the worst viewer that have ever been made...heck ive never used it since i tested it out...its just a complete piece of junk and waste of time,and ive been using TPV's right from the time the very first one came out,and sorry to say but until a viewer is made the completely beats all other viewers..then i wont be happy..but now i use singularity and phoenix...as in my eyes they are the best ones around still...

Yep my opinion still holds. And my prediction of Viewer3 was pretty much right on the money. I said back in March that Viewer 3 would arrive before years end. It's now August 22 and Project SnowStorm ( The SL Development Viewer ) recently hit the 3.0.x.x series a couple of weeks ago.
And guess what ? It does have better FPS performance capabilities, but that's about it :(
It still has a worthless User Interface.
Currently I have been switching between Phoenix ( when I actually want to accomplish something useful like building projects ),and Phoenix FireStorm Beta2,( as I try to gradually accumulate myself to a V2 based format ( it is so far advanced from the official LL V2 it's not even funny ) and Beta3 of FireStorm I suspect will be available sometime in September
I intend to to cover it thoroughly when it does.
