SecondLife : "Toast's" Dam Are They Annoying Or Nonexistent ?

By Avatar JayR Cela

One of the most annoying things to me about the V3 series, is what are referred to as message Toast's, ya know when someone sends you a message ( IM ) offer's you a hug or kiss, you spend or receive L$, the list goes on and on. It used to be in the V1.x series of viewers a big notification appeared in the upper right hand corner of your screen and remained there until you X'd it out.

With the Viewer3 series we now receive what are referred to as Toast's, a message appears briefly on your screen and then fades down into the lower right hand corner of your screen.

Personally I find this to be a pain in the ass, as I sometimes miss important messages, offers, etc...

Now if you are an experienced SL user its really no problem to open up the Debug Menu and change the length of time duration values to better suit your needs. However if you are using Phoenix FireStorm, it is much simpler now. Simply open up Preferences, then goto User Interface and increase the : Notification Toast Life : Tip Toast Life : and : Nearby Chat Toast Life values from the default's to a more comfortable level of seconds.
