Well this just keeps getting better and better, it seem's that the Kirsten Viewer even though it currently has one foot in the grave, simply will not, or refuses to go away. Recently a die hard Kirsten fan decided to revive the project under a different name.
Avatar : Niranv Dean of SL has released into the wild a new V3 fork, built on the Kirsten code base. The Niran Viewer. I am not sure if my ageing hardware is capable of running it, but intend to give it a try later on today.
Regardless I know their are a lot of people out there that may be interested in looking into this project. You can follow the progress and download a copy here.

Hi there Anonymous / I have no idea why NirarV has not addressed this issue. But it is not hard to get rid of it. Just find your Program Files directory / Locate the Nirans folder and just delete it.
Then you will probably want to run a registry cleaner.
I know this really blows, big time!
Just remember that this viewer is experimental.
Glary Utilities has a relatively easy to use Windows based clean up toolbox that is a free download
