Well recently Will Wright, formally from Electronic Arts and creator of the popular Sims series.
( Will, having recently joined LL and former E.A. coworker Rod Humble and current CEO of Linden Lab ) has started a possible spin off, of SL technology called Hive Mind.
HM will be a social network gaming atmosphere aimed at learning as much as it can about someone in Real Life, the longer they use it, in theory at least, the better the software is able to eventually generate a gaming environment best suited for each individual user.
So the question remains, Could or will these same quality's of the Hive Mind experiment eventually be built into SecondLife ?
Considering the amount of anonymity the most Second Lifers seem to cherish so much, I doubt if the Hive Mind mentality would be of much interest to the majority of SL users. But if the same technology could be incorporated into SL this could be truly outstanding when the experimental Linden Realms project actually makes it out of Beta.
If you are unfamiliar with the Linden Realms project, it is sort of a go out find, fight monsters and collect rewards for defeating them, discover hidden treasures and such sort of scenario. And yes you would actually earn L$ for doing so.
Personally I think this could really take off BIG TIME, and attract a lot of new potential customers for LL and SL.
