Ok everyone know's I am an opinionated crack-pot, that's not a big deal, I feel comfortable with the title. However since Ebbe Linden already spilled the bean's, marking SL for a slow and agonizing death, I have to admit at least the man had the gut's to let everyone in on the future plan's. Ya gotta give him credit for that.
SecondLife is Old and Creaky, there is only so much you can do with a perhaps 15 year old architecture in computer life, so is it time to move on ?
At one time I had hoped to do more exploring of various Open Sim grids, unfortunately none of them even compare to SL in terms of maturity. So where does that leave the resident's and entrepreneur's that have devoted so much effort and time into this platform ?
I can tel ya for a fact most of the Open Sim grids can not even begin to compare to SL with the recent advancement's. However we now have a rush of feelings of instability within the SL community, in other words people are freaking out, more and likely for no good reason.
I mean lets get real for a minute, have you ever even bothered to travel to some of the OS grid's ? Most of them are crap !!! Plain and Simple it's old tech, however OS does present an unprecedented opportunity for those inclined to take on the challenge.
Personally I would just wait it out, SecondLife ain't going away anytime soon, and Open Sim will just continue to improve.
